The 2020 Toyota Supra is revealed for better or for worse. Regardless of where you are throughout the Toyota / BMW debate, it should be fantastic to be at the wheel. It's also an eye-catcher, but we have to say that some of you in social media comments on how aggressive the styling of the Supra could be. Ask and you will receive - in abundance.
Maybe this supra-rendering goes a bit too far into the aggressive area, but we do not care. We can always count on Rain Prisk to complete the fantastic section, and no one has ever said that an aggressively reworked Supra needs to be an on-road creation, right? This off-road sports car seems ready to conquer Baja, Paris-Dakar and all the waters in between. Actually, the snorkel looks a bit thin to feed the reinforced inline six of the Supra, but that's certainly a small point.
It's possible that 2019 will be the best year for truck fans so far. The best new pickups and SUVs combine long-range suspension with luxurious interior and some afford more than 500 horsepower. Here are our favorite stone breakers for the New Year.
Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 bison
In collaboration with American Expedition Vehicles, the ZR2 Bison sports steel bumpers and five underbody panels. Like the standard ZR2, the bison rolls on 31-inch Goodyear-Wrangler Duratrac tires and is beefier than the standard Colorado it is based on. In particular, the ZR2 is 3.5 cm wider and sits 2 cm higher. The ZR2's advanced Multimatic DSSV shock absorber technology is something you would normally find in supercars. In this application, the technology is tuned to give the ZR2 excellent results in both creeping and fast desert blasts. The ZR2 is considered a kind of factory king of the hammer. He is one of the few vehicles equipped with differential locks front and rear. Snorkeling is optional.
The available 2.8-liter turbo diesel has a sophisticated exhaust brake to protect the brakes when towing - and it does not rattle Jake-brake staccato so the next city knows you're coming. With only 186 horsepower, the four-cylinder diesel is not fast, but its 369 pound-foot of torque are practically on the trails.
Jeep Gladiator
After the reworked Wrangler arrives, Jeep launches the long awaited Gladiator pickup, which will be available as a 2020 model from 2019. It is the longest Wrangler ever and certainly the only four-door convertible pickup on the market. Wranglers are not known for their towing ability, but the Gladiator can tow up to 7,650 pounds.
The Gladiator starts with the 3.6-liter V6 and either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. Next year, however, we'll see the 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel with a torque of 442 lb-ft. The lightweight hybrid four-cylinder Turbo 2.0 from the House Wrangler is not offered in the Gladiator.
Like the JL Wrangler, the Gladiator features lightweight aluminum doors and options such as heated seats and the Rubicon off-road package.
